Glossary
Every term these pages use, defined once and in the order a reader meets them rather than alphabetically.
Launching
pump.fun. The Solana launchpad every token here is created on. Tokens trade on its bonding curve first and migrate to PumpSwap, its own AMM, once the curve completes.
Deployer. The wallet that signs and pays for a launch. It receives the tokens of any first buy and nothing else: it has no claim on the creator fees.
Mint. The token’s address. Its key is generated in the deployer’s browser and signs the create transaction.
create_v2. pump.fun’s instruction that creates a token. It takes the creator as a plain argument, which is why a creator address can be named without it signing.
Launch message. The text the deployer’s wallet signs before the metadata is published. It names the wallet, mint, creator and digest, and moves no money.
Digest. A SHA-256 hash of the launch details and images. The server recomputes it from the upload, so nothing can be changed after the deployer signed.
First buy. An optional purchase of the new token inside the create transaction, up to 50 SOL, so nobody can buy before the deployer.
Bonded, migrated. A token whose bonding curve completed and which now trades on PumpSwap. Its creator fees then arrive as wrapped SOL in a PumpSwap vault.
Fees and vaults
Creator fee. The part of each trade’s fees that pump.fun pays to a token’s creator address. 0.30% of bonding-curve volume at the time of writing, set by pump.fun.
Creator address. The address a token names as its creator. Here it is derived for that token alone. See Per-token vaults.
Creator index. The number a launch is given when it is prepared, from which its creator key is derived. Never reused.
Master seed. The one secret from which every creator key is derived. Losing it would strand unswept fees; it is backed up offline.
Creator vault. pump.fun’s account holding a creator address’s unswept bonding-curve fees. With one creator per token, it is that token’s vault.
Treasury. The one wallet we operate. It receives sweeps and pays payouts, buys, burns and platform withdrawals. A hot key; see Security model.
Sweep. One transaction that collects a token’s vaults into the treasury, once they hold 0.01 SOL. See Sweeps.
Collect events. CollectCreatorFeeEvent and CollectCoinCreatorFeeEvent, emitted by pump.fun’s programs when they pay out creator fees. A sweep credits their amounts for what its own collects moved.
Loose fees. Fees somebody else collected into a token’s creator address, which anyone may do. The next sweep moves them and credits them from its own transaction’s balances. See Sweeps.
Float. Fees already credited that stayed behind in a creator address because trades landed while a sweep was in flight. The next sweep moves them without crediting them again.
Rent reserve. The minimum balance Solana requires a creator address to keep. It is the platform’s money: booked when first funded, and re-set to Solana’s current minimum by each sweep, with any difference booked to the platform, never to recipients. See Sweeps.
Lamport. One billionth of a SOL. Every amount in the ledger and the API is whole lamports.
Recipients and money
Recipient. An X account named on a token, one of 1 to 6, with a share.
Share, basis points. A recipient’s part of the recipients’ 80%. Typed as a percentage with two decimals, stored as basis points that add up to 10000 per token.
Platform share. The part of each sweep the platform keeps, 20% by default, fixed per token at launch. See Platform share & buyback.
Dust. The fractions of a lamport lost when each credit is rounded down. They go to the platform, so credits never exceed the sweep.
Credit. One recipient’s part of one confirmed sweep, written against their handle. Nothing is ever edited in place: balances are sums of credits and payouts.
X user id. The permanent number X gives an account. Money belongs to it, not to the handle text.
Pinning. Tying a handle to an X user id: at launch when X can be asked, otherwise by a later lookup or at the first sign-in, whichever comes first. A pin never moves.
Balance. Credited, minus payouts that have not failed, minus burn orders. Never expires.
Payout. A SOL transfer from the treasury to a recipient’s wallet: a claim, or an autopay. Queued, sent, then confirmed or failed. One that expires without landing is replaced by a new payout for the same amount, three attempts in all.
Routing and burns
Routing. What happens to a recipient’s new credits: Hold, Autopay or Burn. See Routing.
Autopay. Routing that pays the balance to a saved wallet whenever it reaches 0.05 SOL.
Burn order. SOL set aside to buy and burn a token: from a recipient on Burn, one per credit, or from the platform’s buyback.
Burn run. One buy of a token through Jupiter with its pooled burn orders, once they reach 0.02 SOL, followed by a burn of exactly what was bought.
Declined. A recipient’s public refusal of the money. It implies Burn and is shown on the token and account pages.
Buyback. Optional buy and burn of the platform token, paid from the platform’s own share.
Checking
Owed. Everything credited to recipients that has not yet been confirmed as paid or spent on a burn. Payouts in flight still count.
Surplus. Treasury balance minus owed. Negative would mean the treasury cannot cover what it owes. The platform’s own money is part of it.
Proof of reserves. The public comparison of the two, at request time. See Proof of reserves.
Treasury reserve. 0.05 SOL the treasury keeps back for network fees and rent. Payouts never dip into it.
Last valid block height. The block after which a Solana transaction can no longer land. Saved with every signature. Once a finalized block is more than 150 past it and the chain still has no record of the transaction, a job knows it is safe to replace.
Lease. A row a job holds while it runs, so two overlapping runs cannot both sweep, pay or burn.
Wallet Standard. The way Solana wallet extensions announce themselves to a page, so each is listed under its own name.
